Natural disasters are more frequent and intense. During 2017, there were 13 named hurricanes. This has only occurred four times since 1995.
These facts lead us to ask how well we are preparing for post-natural disaster relief.
The issue of shelter is of dire concern. Designing around vulnerable populations; primarily being women, children, elderly, and any others less mobile is of utmost importance.
To conduct this proposal, digital fabrication is a viable alternative.

A temporary refuge to house four (4) people after hurricanes, storms or tornadoes is proposed as very compact and easy to assemble within hours with minimal tools. This proposal seeks for a flexible, lightweight, temporary, and portable shelter. The hypothesis of this proposal is with algorithmic design and fabrication, achieved through housing solutions of spatial quality, ergonomic interior design and aesthetic value efficiently implemented at low cost in cases of extreme need.
